Scheduling Updates

If you want to set Smart Pix to update your database while you are not using it, e.g. in the middle of the night, you can use a scheduler (such as the System Agent that ships with some versions of Windows).  In the scheduler enter the full path of Smart Pix Manager followed by one of the following:

/updatenew   Smart Pix will add references for new files, while ignoring files that cannot be located

/updategone  Smart Pix will remove references for files that cannot be located, but will not search for new files

/updateall     Smart Pix will remove references for files that cannot be located and add references for new files

E.g. "C:\program files\Smart Pix Manager\smartpix.exe" /updatenew

Note: that Smart Pix will use the default settings and will not prompt you for confirmation, so it is advised that you only use the '/updatenew' option if you back up regularly.
